The Kidsafe WA Online Safety Demonstration House is a new initiative designed to provide great access to all to look at the hazards that can be found in the home for children, and simple steps you can take to keep your children safe.

Kidsafe House is situated adjacent to the Royal Children's Hospital at 50 Bramston Terrace, Herston. Opening hours are Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm as well as the first Monday of each month from 9.00am - 7.00pm. Limited parking is available outside Kidsafe House. Kidsafe House has extensive displays on all aspects of child injury prevention. These displays feature information on toy safety, spiders and snakes, glass and outdoor safety, dog bites, falls, nursery furniture, playground safety, poisonings, burns, scalds, road and water safety. There is a fully working kitchen and bathroom as well as a poisonous plants garden.

A large range of child injury prevention products are on display with most products in stock and available for purchase at our Kidsafe shop.

Guided Tours & Self-guided Tours

Guided tours are available for a small charge for groups ranging in size from eight (8) to twenty (20). Guided tours are by appointment either in working hours or after hours but appointments for all guided tours are necessary. Guided tours take approximately 1.5 hours @ $5 per head.


 

Self-guided tours are also available free of charge and staff are always on hand to help with any queries 

Injury prevention and first aid instruction

Starting with a guided tour of Kidsafe House followed by morning tea then get into practical first aid including CPR for babies and toddlers what to do for near drownings, burns, poisonings and more. $85 per person payable in advance. This event is recommended for pregnant couples, parents, grandparents and other carers of children. Starting time is 9am. Minimum numbers apply. Call Kidsafe Qld on 3854 1829 to book and pay. First aid instruction is provided by a properly qualified first aid instructor who also has 20 years experience in children's emergency departments.
