Kidsafe Qld has over 600 child restraints available for hire. A Baby Capsule Hire Service is available for 6 months or until the child reaches 8 kgs-9kgs has good head control being able to sit unaided and be 70 cm in length. All hired restraints are fitted by experts free of charge. Appointments are necessary. Call 07 3854 1829.
Kidsafe Qld also has a short term hire service for those coming to Queensland for a short break. Child restraints available include Baby Capsules (birth – 6 months), forward facing restraints (6 months – 4 years) and booster seats (4 years - 7 years). Harnesses are also available on request. All hired restraints are fitted free of charge with any required accessories provided free of charge. Appointments are necessary.

Moving from one restraint category to the next restraint category is determined by the child's age, weight and height and in accordance with the Queensland Transport Child Restraint Rules.

Restraint hire service for children with fractures and hip spicas
Kidsafe Qld provides a limited number of child restraints for children unable to use conventional child restraints. These restraints have been specially modified to enable children with plaster casts to be accommodated safely in a five point harnessed restraint. The cost is $35 for the term of the plaster unless over 10 weeks with a $150 deposit which is refunded on return of the restraint. Appointments are necessary.
